OK to answer an earlier question.

Radeon 5870 is ~11 inches in length. And it scores a 7.8 on Windows 7 performance score (7.9 is the cap). In addition, an OCZ Vertex 128GB SSD drive scores a 7.1 (compared to a typical SATA II Hard drive that runs 5.5 - 5.9).

Yeah that new Radeon is a Beast and at least 150.00 cheaper than the best Nvidia out there.

Nvidia must be geting scared with the price diference.

hope that trows a wrench on their price rigigin department

Until the GTX 300 series comes out its really up in the air as to which company is going to have the better card this generation. The fact that its even a question as to whether ATI's card might be better than Nvidia's this time is a big deal in itself. But with the 5870 being so solid, its going to be hard for Nvidia to jack up the price on the 300's to ridiculous levels unless they really blow the 5870 out of the water which I doubt they will.

Price will remain a factor with NVIDIA boards. Their 300 series chip is confirmed to have 30% more transistors than ATI's 5xxx series. They'll use the argument "30% more power and XX% more performance will cost you XX% more money" as they always have.

Also, Intel has officially confirmed that their upcoming 6 core chips will be available ONLY in 1366 formats. 1156 will not be seeing 6 core processors.

Any idea what the i9 will cost? I'm betting over $1k considering the price of the current high end i7s.

I'm trying to get a PC build together, been looking at parts for a week and still can't decide what I want. I'm so indecisive.
